Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital is hosting “Women’s Wednesdays” throughout October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event aims to raise breast cancer awareness and to educate women on the number of services available to them through the hospital.
According to the American Cancer Society, about 246,660 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women this year. However, statistics show mammography has helped reduce breast cancer mortality in the United States by nearly 40 percent since 1990.
Each Wednesday in October the hospital will host “Women’s Wednesdays.” Women are welcome to visit the hospital, enjoy pink-themed desserts and speak with an imaging center expert to answer breast health questions and schedule a mammogram.
“Women’s Wednesdays” information tables will be available October 19 and 26 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the Memorial Hermann Pearland Café.
To schedule your annual screening mammogram or to learn more about the breast care services offered through Memorial Hermann call 877-40-MAMMO (62666).
